If hell and heaven are not real, then Jesus would have been a fool to die such a painful death voluntarily for no reason. But Jesus is no fool! He knows heaven is very good and hell is very bad for people. Out of His love and compassion for us He voluntarily paid the greatest price anyone ever paid for anything and that is for our souls so we could end up in heaven instead of down in hell. And He warned us much about how terrible hell is and encourages us to make the right choice, Luke 13:23-30. And Jesus told us most people are not going to make it into heaven, Matt 7:13-14. To claim there is no hell, in essence is calling Jesus a liar. That is not wise.

 

Throughout history numerous men said they are god and will rise from the dead. They all are fools (except Jesus) because they are not god and they still are dead. But how do we know Jesus died on the cross for our sins AND rose from the dead? Because ... the world does not celebrate the birth of fools. And we would not base our calendar/years on an event that did not happen. But because Jesus died and rose from the dead we celebrate His birth at Christmas and His resurrection at Easter. And this year is the number that it is because of His birth.

 

And if Jesus ONLY rose from the dead we would not be celebrating Christmas and Easter all over the world ... 2000 years later. But we do so because His shed blood and resurrection means that anyone can become confident, before they die, that they will end up in heaven!

 

This is the Good News that has brought much joy to millions! The Bible tells us the blood of Jesus washes our sins away. This is kind of like a delete key erasing the record in a computer file. This means when we (true Christ followers) are called up to give account at the Great White Throne Judgment, our record will have no sin on it because the blood of Jesus washed it off! I hope you can understand how great this is.

 

Hebrews 13:12 And so Jesus also suffered ... to make the people holy through his own blood.

Revelation 1:5 And from Jesus Christ, … Him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in His own blood,

Psalm 103:12 As far as the east is from the west, So far has He removed our transgressions from us.

1 John 1:7 but if we walk in the Light as He Himself is in the Light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin.

John 3:36 The one who believes in the Son has eternal life; but the one who does not obey the Son will not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him.

John 5:24 “Truly, truly, I say to you, the one who hears My word, and believes Him who sent Me, has eternal life, and does not come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life.

Luke 13:23-30 And someone said to Him, “Lord, are there just a few who are being saved?” And He said to them, 24 “Strive to enter through the narrow door; for many, I tell you, will seek to enter and will not be able. 25 Once the head of the house gets up and shuts the door, and you begin standing outside and knocking on the door, saying, ‘Lord, open up to us!’ and He then will answer and say to you, ‘I do not know where you are from.’ 26 Then you will begin saying, ‘We ate and drank in Your presence, and You taught in our streets!’ 27 And yet He will say, ‘I do not know where you are from; leave Me, all you evildoers.’ 28 In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth when you see Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and all the prophets in the kingdom of God, but yourselves being thrown out. 29 And they will come from east and west, and from north and south, and will recline at the table in the kingdom of God. 30 And behold, some are last who will be first, and some are first who will be last.”
